If your business is continuing to operate under the Stay-at-Home Order issued by Governor Whitmer, you may use this as a tool to draft your required letters. As of March 25th, 2020 there is no required language. I interpret that to mean that it can be very simple.  Please refer to the previous blog post for more on this topic.

Sample language for non essential businesses:

To Whom It May Concern:

This is to confirm that (Employee) is an employee of (Business Name). (Business Name) is a (what kind of business you are operating) operating at (Address) in (City, State). Though (Business Name) is a non-essential business pursuant to Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Stay-At-Home Executive Order 2020-21, we are maintaining minimum basic operations consistent with the Order. Our business ceased operations except for minimum basic operations in which (Employee) is essential to process transactions and facilitate the ability of other workers to work from home. As such, (Employee) is permitted under the terms of the Executive Order to travel to and from work. If you have any questions, please contact the undersigned.
